Vandana Shiva, winner of the Alternative Nobel Prize, gave a talk on the 16th of February 2009 at the Bavarian Department of the Environment. Her appearance left a lasting impression on the politicians present. People flocked from all over Bavaria to the town of Rosenheim to witness the remarkable event.

Shiva was greeted in the traditional way, by a parade of farmers in Bavarian dress. Then, they sat down to listen to what she had to say about genetic engineering.

Emotions ran high amongst those present. The event was to become a milestone in the resistance movement against genetic engineering.
